Piece of Mind

For Immediate Release
Opening Reception: May 5th 6-9 pm
Elga Wimmer PCC : 526 W 26th st #310 Exhibition Date : May 5-28. 2011
The urge to preserve and collect is instinctual. Unique to the
individual and manifest in different ways, collections can be material
or cerebral, conscious or unconscious, mundane or monumental. Ten
contemporary artists explore how various types of accumulations --
actual objects or amassed memories, deliberately accumulated or just
inevitably accrued as time passes -- can be presented and interpreted.
Yeji Jun’s drawings are built from daydream images, text and the
artist’s personal signs and symbols. Using techniques from illustration,
diagramming and abstraction, Jun indulges her diaristic and
observational impulses to capture the ways thoughts constantly spiral,
overlap, branch out, circle around and accrue to suggest meaning.

WEAR ART

BECA has selected an initial group of 9 artists, architects + designers and a total of 19 original works of art + design to release as 57 limited editions of wearables for today’s launch of the WEAR ART project.
----------
New Limited Editions will be added daily. BECA and participating artists have agreed to never reproduce these limited editions again. Once they are sold out, they are gone.
How it works: Each limited edition offers only 144 available pieces for 30 days from the date of release or until the edition is sold out, whichever comes first. The availability of various styles and sizes of WEAR ART t-shirts will decrease the closer an edition is to selling out. So act fast to get first dibs on your preferred style/sizes. If any edition does not reach a minimum of 50 pieces sold within 30 days of the edition release, production of that edition will be cancelled and orders will be automatically fully refunded to the customer within 24 hours of the edition being removed from this website.
